Earline Denise Swilley Memorial

Beloved family, friends, and all who gather to remember a life well lived—

Today, we honor the precious memory of Earline Denise Swilley, affectionately known to many as “Tiny.” Though her nickname spoke of how small she was at birth, her life proved that love, faith, family, and resilience can never be measured by size. Tiny carried a presence that filled rooms, a heart that embraced generations, and a legacy that will continue speaking through her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, siblings, church family, and all who were blessed to know her.

Born in Greenville, Mississippi, and nurtured in faith from an early age, Earline’s journey carried her from Mississippi to Michigan and then to Chicago, where she built a life rooted in family, community, and service. She loved deeply, worked proudly, laughed freely, and found joy in the simple blessings of life—from caring for children to bowling with friends, from family gatherings to the fellowship of the church.

Scripture reminds us, “Blessed are the dead who die in the Lord… they will rest from their labor, for their deeds will follow them”Revelation 14:13, NIV. Earline’s earthly labor is finished, but her deeds, her love, her faith, and her beautiful memory remain. And while our hearts grieve, we do not grieve as those without hope. We give thanks to God for the gift of her life, and we celebrate the peace of knowing that she now rests in the care of the Lord.

Below, we invite you to read and reflect on the life, legacy, and loving memory of Earline Denise “Tiny” Swilley.
