Sexual Harassment Policy

 25M Printing Sexual Harassment Policy

Policy Statement: Sexual harassment is illegal in Chicago. 25M Printing is committed to maintaining a workplace free from sexual harassment and any form of retaliation for reporting such behavior.

Definition of Sexual Harassment: "Sexual harassment" means any:

  1. Unwelcome sexual advances or unwelcome conduct of a sexual nature; or
  2. Requests for sexual favors or conduct of a sexual nature when:
    • Submission to such conduct is made either explicitly or implicitly a term or condition of an individual’s employment, or
    • Submission to or rejection of such conduct by an individual is used as the basis for any employment decision affecting the individual, or
    • Such conduct has the purpose or effect of substantially interfering with an individual’s work performance or creating an intimidating, hostile, or offensive working environment; or
  3. Sexual misconduct, which means any behavior of a sexual nature which also involves coercion, abuse of authority, or misuse of an individual’s employment position.

Training Requirements:

  • All employees are required to participate in sexual harassment prevention training annually.
    • Employees shall participate in a minimum of one hour of sexual harassment prevention training annually.
    • Supervisors and managers shall participate in a minimum of two hours of sexual harassment prevention training annually.
  • All employees must also participate in one hour of bystander training annually.

Examples of Prohibited Conduct:

  • Unwanted sexual advances or propositions.
  • Making or threatening reprisals after a negative response to sexual advances.
  • Visual conduct such as leering, making sexual gestures, displaying sexually suggestive objects or pictures, cartoons, or posters.
  • Verbal conduct such as making or using derogatory comments, epithets, slurs, or jokes.
  • Verbal sexual advances or propositions.
  • Verbal abuse of a sexual nature, graphic verbal commentary about an individual’s body, sexually degrading words used to describe an individual, or suggestive or obscene letters, notes, or invitations.
  • Physical conduct such as touching, assault, or impeding or blocking movements.

Reporting Procedure: Employees who believe they have been subjected to sexual harassment should report the incident as soon as possible to:

  1. A manager
  2. The company's corporate headquarters or human resources department
  3. Any other internal reporting mechanism

Confidential reports can be made using the internal complaint form available from the human resources department.

Legal Services: Employees who may be victims of sexual harassment can access legal services, including governmental resources, for assistance.

Anti-Retaliation Statement: Retaliation for reporting sexual harassment is illegal in Chicago. 25M Printing strictly prohibits any form of retaliation against individuals who report sexual harassment or participate in the investigation of such complaints.
