Remembering Phyllis Marie Bulger
Phyllis Marie Bulger was born on April 6, 1962, in Chicago, Illinois, to Hugh and Sherry Booker. She attended St. James Catholic School and Proviso East High School in Maywood, where she served as Captain of the Pom Pom team and was crowned Miss Maywood in 1976. Even then, Phyllis had a way of lighting up every room with her beautiful smile, vibrant personality, and joyful spirit. At 18, she moved to Los Angeles before returning home to Chicago, where she built a career in the travel industry. She loved exploring new places, sharing great meals, and making lasting memories. More than anything, Phyllis loved people. She was fun, loving, silly, and never missed an opportunity to tell a corny joke or make someone laugh. She was a listening ear, a source of wisdom, and a constant encouragement to everyone around her. She wasn’t just a mother, sister, grandmother, or friend—she was a safe place, a cheerleader, and family to so many. To know Phyllis was truly to love her. Phyllis was preceded in death by her husband, Reginald; her parents, Hugh and Sherry; her Aunt Sheila, and grandson, Bejian. She leaves to cherish her memory her children, Benjamin, RavenSymone (Kim), and Pairie (Baron); her grandchildren, Kionte (Kayla), Kjvion, Benjamin, Ahmir, Brijon, Maurice “MJ,” Parie “Baby Pooh”, and Blessing; her great-grandchildren,Mahari, Nova, Xavion, and Yamiyah; her sisters, Denean and Brandie; seven nephews, one niece, and a host of cousins, and dear friends. Though our hearts are heavy, we find comfort in knowing that Phyllis’s love, laughter, and beautiful spirit will live on through everyone she touched. She leaves behind a legacy that will never fade and memories we will treasure forever. We love you more than words can express. And as we smile through our tears, we can’t help but wonder… who’s going to be our “Sucker Booty A** Lame” now? (If you know you know).
