Remembering Wilfred Nwankwo

Wilfred Ugochukwu Nwankwo, passed away on August 8th, 2025 at the age of 66 in Chicago, Illinois. 

Wilfred was born on August 4th, 1959 to Beatrice Obiageli Nwankwo and Josephat Ofonedu Nwankwo in Nigeria. Wilfred graduated from High School of Immaculate Conception (CIC) Enugu in 1981. He immigrated to America in 1986, and obtained a Bachelor’s degree at Northeastern Illinois University in Chicago, Illinois. He worked at Drake Tower Apartment and Metropolis.

In 1988, Wilfred met Tami in Chicago. They married the same year in December. Wilfred and Tami had one child together, Chibueze C.U. Nwankwo. Wilfred Nwankwo was predeceased by Josephat Ofonedu Nwankwo, Ethel Ngozi Nwankwo, Ifeoma Nwankwo. He leaves to cherish his memories to Beatrice Nwankwo, Tami Nwankwo, Chibueze Nwankwo, Chizolum Nwankwo, Chukwuemeka Joseph Nwankwo (Gloria Uzoamaka), Edward Daniel Nwankwo (Monica Obioma), Ekwy Christiana Nwankwo, and Dorothy Adeze Okafor (Michael Ndubusi). He’s also survived by his in-laws Ann Hughes, Mona Hughes, Cornell Hughes, Donavon Hughes, Tina Hughes, Sharieff Doniel Hughes, Shannon Kareem Hughes, Robert Wilson, Ron Wilson, and a host of nieces, nephews, along with a multitude of family and friends.
